SPROCKET AND RIM

If you are an Arborist or provide any type of tree service, a chain saw is an integral part of your job, and the drive sprocket plays a key role in the performance of the chainsaw. During use, if you feel the saw jumping, shaking, dragging, or stretching, these signs indicate that the sprocket may need to be replaced. The drive sprocket needs to match the pitch of the saw chain you are using and it should be replaced every 2 to 3 chains. We offer two main types of drive sprockets, one is the “Spur” type, and the other is the “Rim” sprocket system. The spur sprocket drives the chain directly from the star teeth of the sprocket it self. These teeth tend to wear out slower than the rims but are more expensive when you come to replace them. The rim sprocket setting means that it is easier and cheaper to be replaced. It wears faster than spur sprockets, but they are cheaper. OMACK sprockets are sturdy and durable, and the quality is always reliable.
